Sara Figal lives in Nashville with her husband and a cohort of children, cats, dogs, toads, gerbils both named Bob, and sundry wild things that the dogs no longer bother to chase away. Their home is full of books (some written by her), films (classic German, contemporary Japanese), musical instruments (piano, violin, harp, flute, oboe), and cameras (most old, all working). In addition to creating visual art through fiber sculpture and photography, Sara Figal is a writer of both fiction and scholarly prose. She also works as a Mediator and as an administrator for the Nashville Conflict Resolution Center.
